Make the most of your time in Healdsburg - 3 Hours to Scope Out Healdsburg
Make the Most of Your Time in Healdsburg ...3 hours to scope out Healdsburg.
Just 3 Hours to scope out Healdsburg? Here's how to visit the Plaza, enjoy a meal and visit a nearby family run winery in a three-hour snippet of time. Park your car--find a spot around our Spanish-style Plaza created in the mid 1800s by the town founder, Harmon Heald. Trust a local...park free for 3 hours and then move the car! If you can't find a spot around the Plaza, there's a parking lot behind Hotel Healdsburg.
Arrange the one-hour segments below in any sequence depending on time of day and what you feel like doing first and last.
One Hour - Explore the Plaza
Healdsburg is a walkers town! Visit some of my favorite not-to-be-missed spots around the Plaza.
If you are a foodie, Oakville Grocery is your kind of store. Great food and gourmet goodies to take home!
Check out the variety of shops around the Plaza. If you need some retail therapy, you are in the right place!
Downtown Bakery -- grab a coffee and one of their worth-every-calorie Cinnamon Rolls.
Got candy? Powell's Sweet Shop -- old fashioned candy store plus gelato to die for! It's my source for Chuckles and black jelly beans.
Copperfields Books -- every town needs a great book store. Check ours out!
Another Hour - Get a bite to eat and relax!
Hungry for Lunch? Three great ideas: Healdsburg Bar & Grill, Restaurant Charcuterie , Center Street Deli.
How about Dinner? Three great ideas: Bistro Ralph, Cena Luna, Dry Creek Kitchen
One More Hour - Drive less than 10 minutes to a family-owned winery
Take a five minute drive out Westside Road (see Wine Road map) to Mill Creek Winery shown in the photo above. Why is this one of our favorite wineries to visit? Wonderful wines, friendly faces in the tasting room and a charming place to visit--that's why! This family-owned and operated winery is a gem...in the country surrounded by vineyards and so close to town.
Three hours goes fast in our friendly little town! You explored the Plaza, had a bite to eat and visited Mill Creek Winery. Now it's time to plan a future visit to Healdsburg. Next time--plan to stay longer!
