Art is Happening in Healdsburg ~ Experience it!

Healdsburg is proud of Foss Creek Pathway--a paved path for walkers and cyclers.  The pathway is also an outdoor art gallery with works of sculpture made possible by Voigt Family Sculpture Foundation. You can get up close and personal with touchable sculptures along the path.  The Foss Creek Pathway will soon be expanded from the center of Healdsburg all the way to the old train station near the Russian River. What a great walk that will be when the project is finished. And, luckily for everyone, it will include more public art along the path.  

Looking for a free event that is all about art? ARTrails  is an annual event each October in Sonoma County. You can get a copy of the ARTrails map at Copperfields Bookstore located on the Plaza in Healdsburg. This is your opportunity to chat with artists, see demonstrations and view a wide variety of art forms. Last year, I bought a lovely vase for my sister at ARTrails.  The artist let me take his picture which I included with the gift which made it even more fun to give and receive. If you seek unique treasures to embellish your life or give as gifts, you will find them at ARTrails. You will see art in many forms as you experience ARTrails. Treat yourself to an art-experience kind of day and get in touch with local artists.

Got Galleries? Yes--you will find art galleries all around Healdsburg. Go to the Healdsburg Visitors Bureau website and print out the Things to Do list. It includes a list of Art Galleries found in Healdsburg. Don't miss Plaza Arts Center, just off the square in Healdsburg. It's an art gallery of featuring fifteen resident artists. This non-profit community center offers art classes and shows to benefit locat school art projects.

Museums are always wonderful to visit. However, there's something special about discovering art along a walking path, at the ARTrails fall event or in a gallery you happen to enter. Come to Healdsburg wine country  to experience art and meet local artists.
